Create a page!
You would do this by following this syntax and clicking on the page name, and then entering information on that page would create a page named "newpage".
Community portal (in the navigation area on the left) will be a collection of links
Current events (likewise in the navigation bar) will be a set of conclaves, etc. This could even contain an embedded Google calendar link, for example
